All was gray and rainy. The peaks and valleys were hidden in soupy clouds and a chill wind swept up from below blowing in more clouds and rain. With only half an hour before sunset I was starting to lose hope for any break in the nebulous haze, and as day's end drew nearer the chances of that happening became slimmer. I decided to head back down the windy mountain road and head home, but as I descended a pink glow began seeping through the thick cloud ceiling. I sped up hoping to find a spot clear of haze, and then all at once the sky opened and the view before me was stunning.
